In today’s class week 4 we really started to break down the assignment of e-portfolio. At first I was thinking why are we talking about this so early because it isn’t due until December. However once we got the work period to work on it or start it I started to understand. Creating a website isn’t an easy task. A lot of information needs to be on the website. Therefore by starting to work on it early I now am aware of why we need to start it so early. I also was not aware of why we are creating an e-portfolio. However once we discussed the importance of creating one it helped. We are creating an e-portfolio mainly for ourselves for when we are done this program. We are able to use the assignments to better help understand ourselves and display them in a professional manner. Therefore if we ever head to an interview we can simply pull our website up and allow the person interviewing me explore my experiences. Overall this class helped understand the importance of the assignment and why it should be taken seriously.
During week 9 we discussed many different low tech-writing tools. This learning experience was very eye opening for me. The reason why found this experience so eye opening is because when I think of tech tools I think of them being used through some sort of technology. I really liked the different tools that can be used as simple as pencil grip this can help a lot for a child. Some of the low tech –writing tools that I found amazing were, Wikki Stix I am currently in Kindergarten and even thought he children who are writing don’t have an exceptionality the Wikki Stix can help them when learning how to write on the proper lines. These tools aren’t very expensive and can make a huge impact when implementing these tools towards children who are struggling. Therefore it is important for EA’s to be aware of the low tech-writing tools because they can make a huge different and we can support children through simple tools to help them for their future writing success.
