These two images are from the website Starfall. The image on the right is what the home page looks like. The image on the right is from the subject "ABCs". Within this section you choose a letter you want to focus on. The letter shows examples of words that start with that letter, and pictures. This website is also interactive and engaging for the students learning. |
These images are from the website called Storyline Online. The images on the top are of the home page. Those are a few selection of books. The website has many more books to choose from. Once you choose what book you would like to read it is a video (the picture on the bottom). This was helpful towards some of the students because the students were able to visually follow along. Once the author finished reading a page we would go back and find words we are familiar with and words that we are not familiar with and find the meaning. This would also depending on the students age and level.

These images are from a website called ABCya. This was a website that the children were using during their computer time. The top left image is a image of the home page. The second image on the top right hand side in the options of games to play in the kindergarten level. The bottom left side has a bunch of games that teach ABC letters. When I was in the computer lab with the children we focused on a matching game. The matching game allowed us to focus on either letter names or sounds. If the children knew their letters but not their sounds we would focus on sounds and vice versa. The website is great for children who are learning their letters as well as numbers.

These images are from a website called Storynory. This is a website that is similar to Storyline Online. However this website when working with the children we didn't need the book, the text was provided for the story (seen in the bottom left hand image). This website I used with older grade, what I found useful was gathering a small group of students and we would read it together. We would work together to figure out words and sounds we didn't understand. The poems and music were useful towards younger kids. The were able to relate or try to think about poems that are similar or learn new poems they were interested in.

This is a website reading program called A-Z reading. This program was implemented throughout the school in different grades. When working with kids who were ESL I used books from the aa level. These books were easy reads and the pictures really demonstrated what the sentence said. This was really helpful for the students. The kindergarten classroom that I was supporting also uses these books once a child reaches Grade 2 words from the Dolch words. The children all look forward to receiving books. This program can be used for a variety of children needs.
