SMART Goal #1My first SMART Goal was to complete a course called Communication Strengths and Challenges through Geneva centre for Autism. By expanding my knowledge about some strengths and challenges a child with ASD can face. This course will also give me some strategies to help encourage and strengthen their communication skills. This is a valuable course to take so I can be aware of many different kinds of barriers as well as strategies to help assist children with ASD and their everyday communication skills. After completing this course I was able to implement some of my knowledge learnt into my placement and helped a student to become more sufficient in commutation.

This game is called Math Attack. Students are asked a math question and when they know the answer they click on the correct number. However the numbers are falling at the same time so it can become very difficult. If a student I was working with did not have good mental math strategies I wouldn't use this particular game with them because it can be overwhelming. However I did have one student on placement who did have great mental math skills therefore this is a game I would use in that particular situation.
