This is a picture of a SCM kit that my group made. We made it for Kindergarten. Depending on the level of the child you can either take all the pieces off, or leave the animals and they have to match the word and the number or you can leave the word and they have to match the animals and number or leave the number and they have to match the picture and word. All the pieces are cut into a puzzle piece, if the piece fits its the correct answer if it's not the student would have to try again.
This is an activity that was created in Intellectual and Learning Disabilities. This activity is called Elkonin Boxes, and helps students with phonological awareness. The animals are used as manipulatives in order for students to become aware of the sounds in each box. As the student says the word they push an animal up into a bid in order for them to be aware of the sounds each word makes.
